My student adviser/Dean of Students has never met me. Do I still need a reference from him/her?

Everyone must follow the standard procedure so that the application process is fair to all applicants.  Please ask the Dean of Students, or equivalent officer in your school, to complete the form or supply a letter vouching that you are in good standing with the school and not subject to any disciplinary procedures at the time of application.  In addition you should supply a reference from a responsible person at the school who does know you personally and whose role might be similar to the Dean of Students at another school, or if no such person exists, a person outside your school who might be well placed to comment.  A purely academic reference would not be acceptable in this context.
